P ROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT
I - 2004
By Marla Nevill, Clerk/Treasurer, South Prairie, WA
I attended
all three Professional Development courses in one
year which seemed a bit overwhelming and it is
wonderful to have it completed.
Dema Harris,
the Director for the Clerks Institute, was great.
She made sure that a wide variety of information was
covered ranging from Robert's Rule of Order to
Building your Web page.
We had to
prepare an assessment for PD I, II and III along
with an action plan. The name of the
assessment is the Knowledge Transfer Action Plan
(KTAP) and I am already implementing some of the
ideas at the Town of South Prairie.
If at all
possible, I would recommend staying at the dorm and
not commuting. As a commuter, it felt like I
was missing out on some of the camaraderie and
networking with some fantastic people. I'm
looking forward to seeing everyone again!
