Let the Graduation
Commence…. - 2005 As a recent graduate of the 2005 Northwest Clerk’s Institute, I reflect upon the last three years and how this experience has enhanced both my professional and personal life. The Institute has allowed me to sharpen my professional image while creating a unique environment where I was able to foster friendships with Clerks from Oregon to Alaska.
I highly recommend this program to anyone who has an active role in the Clerk’s office. The Institute has evolved into a premier program under the vision of WMCA and Dema Harris. Dema utilizes her professionalism, attention to detail, and knowledge of the Clerks’ needs, to create a unique and innovative learning community. This year’s program captivated my interest and reignited my passion for my profession. The Institute offered excellent sessions ranging from communication to humor, and it has given each of us the basic survival techniques for an ever-changing work place. Everyday I learned something new about myself and those around me. I discovered how to embrace creativity and to make the ordinary extraordinary. It has been an invaluable experience that has altered my perceptions of the world around me. The last three years just flew by. Admittedly, there were a few bumps along the way (I don’t think that any of us will forget the pre-Dema years), but we take with us many wonderful memories and good friends. The only thing missing are the caps and gowns.
